Happenings

Well, 2006 is nearly gone, sold our 1st house and bought a new one all in 6 months, I'm approaching 41 (dyslexia kicked in and 14 was there originally! *chuckle*), Josh is headed back to school and will be starting the 8th Grade. That is the most shocking. Kids just grow up way too fast these days.

This evening after a nice supper at Claim Jumper, we drove past a Halloween Store. Shit! It's not even September yet! My Birthday (Sept. 1) needs to happen before all that freaky shit can begin! Just kidding. But my real point is, where the hell has 2006 gone??? The first 6 months seemed to crawl by. Now that all the chaos of real estate is behind us, it actually seems like yesterday the year began.

My mother, suffering from the advanced stages of Parkinsons and living in Arizona now has had two situations that has prompted us to consider trying to convince her to move here to Vegas. In most of our lives, the time comes for the child to become the parent. Certainly not a comfortable situation to be in. So, in the coming weeks, we will be traveling to AZ to discuss the matter. Wish us luck!

At work, the major project of this year is complete. We've migrated all users from Blotus Chokes (Lotus Notes) to Microsoft Exchange. This was a learning experience for me as I had never been involved in something like this. Not a better way to learn than to be thrown in as a key roll in the project. Now that all users are using Outlook, I've been asked to provide formal training. So, another first for me. Thus far, training has been received quite well. This also serves as a resume builder. As I've never taught a formal class before, it's been another one of those growth experiences. In this case, the rule, "Those who can do and those who can't teach" does NOT apply. :)

The house is finally "settling" down. We're all but complete with initial Walk-thru items and a few Warranty items. It did seem as if it would never end. It's nice to come home from work and relax rather than await a contractor. It's not over yet though. Still a few items to deal with.

Have I bored you enough yet? *chuckle*
