Latest Real Estate News

Our builder, rather, salesman, FINALLY gave us our copies of the contract we signed back on January 10. What a surprise when it was revealed that we had until March 10 to have an offer on this house. Purchase of our new home is on a contingency contract. In other words, the equity in this house will be used towards the down on our new home.

Knowing now that we have only until the 10th, two things happened: 1) Wrote a letter asking for an extension, especially considering the new house will not be ready until the last week of May. 2) Lower the asking price of this house by $5K. Previously, we averaged only one looker per week. We can only hope that lowering the price will bring in more people and hopefully an offer soon.

Should Post SOMETHING, I Guess...

Not much to post this week, but since my last posting was on the 19th of February, I should post something. Since this has been the Week from Hell, this will be more ranting than anything else. So, I suggest you avert your eyes or move to the next blog if you are looking for something "uplifting."

Monday: I have used the term Mucking Funday for Monday's like this. Well, there is NOTHING like not being appreciated. Then, consider being reprimanded for something you really had nothing to do with aside from noting and reporting it!! Suffice it to say, without whining TOO much, that people can be so short-sighted they forget the feelings of others.

Tuesday: Calmer than Monday but still a Day from Hell. Fighting Realtor and Sales Agent over houses, still do not have copies of contracts signed nearly TWO months ago! Sales Agent has a VERY non-chalant (sp) attitude. Let’s get real here, we’re buying a .5 Million dollar home! One should receive much better service. Found out our Contingency Agreement expires on the 10th of March, so had to lower the price by $5k.

Wednesday: Today was, well, subdued. Really detest when people expect you to be cheery and happy all the goddam time! Normally, I am pretty level, even-tempered and serious with a little dry humor peppered in. That’s my GOOD mood. Quiet and non-talkative and more “to-the-point” than usual and, well, a little grumpy is my bad mood. Okay, don’t we all have that right? So long as you don’t bite people’s heads of, that should be acceptable? Not for me.

Seems like everything is a struggle, even for the smallest things. Bah!
