Update

Things seem to be moving along MUCH better after the "false-start" earlier this week. Apparently they now see things OUR way. When we returned the next day, the salesman was really quite accomodating. So, it looks like we will be getting our new home after all. Not until later this year, however. Although we need to sell our current house first, which all indicators point to a speedy sell, it looks like an early Summertime move. Something I wanted to avoid at all cost.

The options that are being thrown in are excellent as well. Surround system pre-wire, category-5 networking, decorator switches, tile, etc. The location of our lot is quite an advantage too.

Meeting with the loan officer went really quite smoothly. It's just the montly payment that scares the hell out of us, which is nearly twice our current payment.

Tomorrow, we make our (hopefully) final trip to storage. One never knows what kind of garbage that has been stored for so many years until time to move. But what seems to be garbage is actually items we may need. Now, the house is ready to be shown with the exception of one closet. That will be addressed at a later date.

I truly do not relish the thought of having strangers in my home, especially in my absence. But, I guess it is part of the price to be paid to sell one's home. What gets me is one of my neighbors actually told me to RAISE the price! We're already priced in the upper-mid -range for our community. No, we'll keep it priced as is and see what happens.

Updates coming as they happen. Stay tuned!
