5 Days And Counting! VACATION!!!

In just 5 days my long-awaited vacation begins! Since September, I've been anticipating a week-long rest from the chaos of the Plant. Running a network in this condition with difficult to please internal customers can truly weigh on a person. Generally, IT Departments are run by those with little customer ethic and hence are grumpy, unapproachable and all-around unpleasant. While we strive to produce a customer-friendly atmosphere, there are always those that want more. Despite one's best efforts, it is impossible to please everyone.

This will be a splendid time to "fallback and regroup" and be prepared to start the New Year. Taking the week between Christmas and New Years will also allow time to spend with my son. Maybe a week full of rail-fanning and if there is snow on the mountain, perhaps we will go to Mt. Charleston and build a snowman or two. Of course, the required snow-ball fights will be part of the venue.

It will be nice to not have to be concerned about deadlines, network issues, etc. for a while.
