New Gadget - PalmOne Tungsten T5
A few years ago, I bought my first PDA, or Personal Data Assistant. Also known as a Handheld. These "nifty" little devices can do anything from keep track of your contacts, e-mail, read e-books and other limited functions. Pictured here is my new Tungsten T5, which comes with Bluetooth Wireless capabilities and with an expansion card, Wi-Fi Internet. All this, including listen to MP3's, watch movies, play games and surf the web (Wi-Fi) are possible with this gadget. Primarily, it automates my job where I no longer have to use paper logs, instead I can enter the information and synch it up with my computer. This alsk comes with handwriting recognition. So, taking notes during meetings as well as keeping track of my daily tasks is simple. 256M memory and a 1G card gives me a lot of storage space. I think Palm has come a long way with their OS, and in my opinion, better than Windows Mobile. The PalmOne operating system is very stable now, unlike in previous years. With the proper applications, I will be able to remotely control some workstations at my office from home once I receive my Wi-Fi card. In short, it's a handheld computer. It's also highly customizable. Note the background picture. So, you don't have to look at any boring wallpaper on your PDA. Oh, one other thing, Drive Mode allows you to plug it into your desktop or notebook computer and use it like any other external storage device. Hat's off to Palm for their advances. To any business professional, I recommend this unit. Blackberry has nothing on Palm, aside from a mess. *chuckle*
