The Latest
It’s been a couple of weeks since my last entry so I thought it wise to update.
For the past two weekends, we have had Open Houses. The first weekend was an utter failure. So much that we about lost hope. Then, it dawned on me that Nascar was in town and, of course, the dismal weather. Although Sunday was nicer, it did not translate into anything promising. So, we’ve lowered the price in hopes of bringing in more potential buyers.
This last weekend, we figured that we had nothing to lose but relaxing time, and not much of that since we would have to essentially be on stand-by for potential buyers. So, we allowed for another weekend OH and the final. Saturday was not terribly encouraging. However, Sunday was much more promising. As of today, there are 2 potential offers (nothing concrete or inked as of yet) and one scheduled to view Tuesday morning based upon a referral. Though hopeful, we are optimistic since this is the closest we have come to an actual offer. I won’t be celebrating until the contract is legal and the ink is dry, however. Then, and only then, can we move forward on the new house.
Your continued positive thoughts and prayers are requested and appreciated. One thing we have done is taken a St. Joseph statue and buried it in the front yard near the door in hopes of the legend coming true for us. Seemingly enough, it has already made a difference. Although, I wonder if perhaps it was the lower price that has interested more people.
I am looking forward to all this being completed and in the new house. Not as much for the house but the stress factor. Whomever said that this was an exciting time was quite the masochist and completely out of their mind. We will be happy when we finally have this one sold and settled in the new one.
The latest at work is I'll be updating the Windows Server by doubling the RAM (memory) and applying the latest ServicePack. It's only Windows 2000, but it gets the job done. Once it has been upgraded and patched, we'll be migrating to Active Directory which will eliminate a number of issues. This will be a large project for Q2. Otherwise, it's just the same old BS in different forms, different days.
